Ms. Johnnie L. Powell Ward, of Pembroke, Georgia,  passed away on March 1, 2024 at age 91.

The Swainsboro native retired from the Jiffy Mini Market. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, her dogs and shopping, especially for shoes. But most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Ola Edenfield-Hooks; a son, Henry "Buddy" Ambrose Powell; and a daughter, Mary Ann Green, as well as eleven siblings.

Survivors include her three children, John J. Powell (Nancy L.), Terry Powell (Pam), and Nicky Powell (Kay), along with her twenty-six grandchildren, forty-five great-grandchildren and her thirteen great-great grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 6th from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM at the funeral home. The funeral will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.  The burial will follow at Hillcrest West Cemetery.
