Port Wentworth-Mr. Joseph C. Brinson, Sr., my precious husband/father/grandfather, left his temporary home on May 22nd, and went to begin his eternal life with Jesus. Although his battle here on earth was lost to cancer…he is now made whole again!
He was born in Savannah to the late Louis & Estell Brinson. He was a member of Harvestime Church, and was an avid artist, wood carver, painter, and taxidermist. He retired after 43 years from the Savannah Sugar Refinery, and was a member of their "Over the Hill Gang".
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Karen Dillard Brinson; children, Lucia Rosemarie Wilkinson(David), Terri Sheahan(Joe), Denise Hatcher, and Joseph Brinson, Jr.; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; brother, James "Mickey" Brinson(Diane).
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
