Mr. Joseph O. Holloway, Sr., 85, of Ellabell, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at his home.

Joe was born in Anderson, Missouri and had lived in Kansas City, EL Paso, Little Rock, and Daytona Beach for a number of years before moving to Ellabell.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Earl Holloway and Naomi Jordan Holloway; his wife, Mary Sue Knight Holloway; his daughter-in-law, Donna Michelle Holloway, and his brothers, Stanley Holloway and Frank Dean Holloway.  He served his country in the United States Air Force in Korea and retired from the National Weather Service as a Meteorologist.  He was a member of the Ellabell Church of Christ and loved gospel and blue grass music.  When he was younger he enjoyed fishing, he was a very talented wood worker, and was always volunteering his time to help others.

Survivors include his son, Dr. Joe Holloway, Jr.; granddaughters, Rhonda Hewitt and Taylor Kathleen McFarland (fiancé-Allen Harper); great-grandchildren, Kamrin, Kathleen, Macie and Gabriel; sisters, Earline Mathis and Christina Gracen; nieces and nephews, Michan, Catherine, Timmy, Lloyd and Sis.

The visitation will be on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.  The funeral to honor Joe's life will follow at 3 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
