Mr. Joseph "Joe" M. Pye, Jr., 76, of Guyton, Georgia, passed away peacefully at the age of 76, surrounded by his daughters at Memorial Hospital in Savannah, Georgia on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.

Joe was born in Rockford, Illinois to the late Melvin Pye and Gladys Robbins Pye.

He was a long haul truck driver for many years and retired after 47 years behind the wheel to spend more time with family and friends.  Aside from his love for going fast, Joe loved his daughters and grandchildren, family vacations and sitting around a fire having a cold one with friends.

Survivors include two daughters, Melinda E. Pye Schuman (Gregg) and Robin M. Pye Ketcham (Kevin); grandchildren, Katelyn Grainger (Luke), Kevin A. Ketcham, Braden Schuman, Kelsey Ketcham, Brody Schuman, and Kinsley Ketcham.  He will be missed by many family and friends.

The visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2023 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral will be Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Joe's name.
