Springfield – Joseph Byron Phillips, 71, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Effingham Extended Care.
The Tattnall County native was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired Truck Driver.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Phillips of Springfield; daughter, Rebecca McDougall of Springfield; grandson, Bobby Brigdon of Rincon; brother, Elwin Phillips of Rincon; sister, Helen Harrison of Rincon; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation was chosen with memorial services Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. at Ebenezer Creek on Tommy Long Road.
Remembrances may be given to American Cancer Society, 1930 Springfield-Egypt Rd., Springfield, GA 31329.
