Springfield – Joseph B. Taylor, 65, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Candler Hospital.

The Bryan County native was a Class A machinist, having worked for Hobart, Delta Metals and the Bryan County School System. He was a family man that enjoyed working with his hands. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph "Joe" William Taylor and Myrtle "Mert" Taylor; sisters, Lynda Hodges and Wanda McBride and her husband, David.

Survivors include his wife, Charlene Taylor; children, Amy Gavins, Lisa Richards (Sam), Joseph Dyson (Shay), Clyde "CA" Dyson (Amber), Darlene Shaw (Brian); siblings, Charles "Wendy" Taylor (Mary Ann), and Reba Taylor; grandchildren, Kaylah Anderson, Damien "DJ" Gavins, Brian Richards, Callie Richards, Logan Dyson, Fisher Williams, Gunner Dyson, Tucker Dyson, Taylor Martin, Brice Nettles, Charleston Dyson, Brianna Shaw, Hunter Shaw; great-grandchildren, Karson Anderson and Kyndall Anderson; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation: 5-7 pm Saturday, October 21, 2023 in the funeral home.
