FAULKVILLE: Mrs. Josephine "Jo" Hughes died Monday, May 9, 2011 at Memorial Health University after a short illness.
She was a wonderful loving mother to four children, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two on the way. She worked at the Savannah Airport for Hertz Car Rental for many years and retired in 1995. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with family and her dear friend of over 50 years, Idell Smith.
She is survived by her children, Joel C. (Susan) Manuel, Brenda M. DeLotell, Linda H. (Frank) Groover and Mary H. (Harmon) Vandiver; mother, Evelyn Tapley Price of Statesboro; brothers, James F. Price, Wade M. Price, Larry N. Price and Hershel L. Price; grandchildren, Joel C. Manuel, Jr., Amy M. Tiomkin, Ashley M. Barrnett, Bradley A. Manuel, Christopher M. Stringer, Nickie V. Underwood, and Jameson Blake Alford; great-grandchildren, Alex Stahl, Alexa Stahl, Ethan Manuel, Conner Manuel and Gavin Barnett and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
