Obituary

Mrs. Josie Mae Bragg, 86, of Pooler, GA, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2024 at Candler Hospital in Savannah.

The Chatham County native was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Lillie Mae Collins, a son, Joseph Ray Stapleton and two daughters, Patricia Ann Williams and Pamela K. Abbott.  She was a member of Bloomingdale Church of Nazarene. She enjoyed soft drinks, country music, Elvis Presley and classic tv shows such as Andy Griffith.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her daughters Linda Irby (Joseph), Peggy Harris (David); grandchildren Rose Irby, Tammy Lynn Gray and Joseph Kendricks; great-grandchildren John Blakely and Chase Irby, as well as other great-grandchildren; brother, DeWayne Collins; brother-in-law, Eugene Abbott, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Bloomingdale Church of the Nazarene located at 1116 U.S. Hwy 80.

The funeral will be on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Bloomingdale Church of the Nazarene. Josie will lie in state from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the church.  The graveside funeral and burial will follow at Portal Cemetery located at 175 Woods Avenue at 3 p.m.
