Josie Helen Rushing Hunnicutt
Port Wentworth – Josie Helen Rushing Hunnicutt, 83, passed away peacefully Friday, December 5, 2014 at Effingham Care Center.
The Bulloch County native was a member of Port Wentworth United Methodist Church and the Oscar Bell Sunday School Class. She retired from International Paper. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved gardening and painting wood crafts her husband made.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Brooks W. Rushing and Verda Phillips Rushing; and husband, Samuel C. Hunnicutt.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan Hunnicutt VanHook (Bob) of Statham, GA and son, Tommy Hunnicutt (Debbie) of Rincon; grandchildren, Amber Jackson, Kristen Logan, Julie Tretiak, Lauren McDill, Ryan VanHook, and Shelly Harden; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Selma Miley of Statesboro.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Port Wentworth United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hunnicutt will lie in state from 10 a.m.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
