Mrs. Joyce Coursey Lee, 83, of Woodstock and formerly of Pooler, passed away on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Kennestone Hospital.

Mrs. Joyce was born in Screven County to the late Walter Linwood Coursey and Helen Hurst Coursey.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John Ellis Lee, and a brother, William Denton "Bill" Coursey.  She was a homemaker and a member of the South Newington Baptist Church.  She enjoyed cooking, puzzles, Facebook, traveling, country music, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Survivors include two sons, Darrell E. Lee (Karen Mayberry) and Ronald A. Lee (Sally Lovett); grandchildren, Brittany Lee Bartlett (Charles), John Michael Lee, Ted Lee, Alexandra Lee, Travis Lee, Liara Lovett, and Cara Lovett; great-granddaughter, Charlee Bartlett; brothers, James Linwood Coursey and Ricky Hurst Coursey (Jan); sisters, Annette Mingledorff (Don Price) and Jacqueline Hodge; former daughter-in-law, Donna Agan Lee; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law.

The visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, February 5, 2021 in the chapel of the Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home located at 901 W. Hwy. 80 in Pooler.  All CDC and social distancing guidelines will be in place including the wearing of masks (Chatham County Mandate) and may limit the number of people in the building at any given time.

The graveside funeral and burial will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Newington City Cemetery located at 117 Uhlma Street in Newington, GA.  Rev. Steve McCoy will officiate and the pallbearers will be Brittany Lee Bartlett, Charles Bartlett, John Michael Lee, Ted Lee, Alexandra Lee, and Travis Lee.

Remembrances may be given to South Newington Baptist Church, 453 John Carter Road, Bloomingdale, GA  31302.
