Springfield – Juanita Hendley Smith, 97, passed away August 8, 2021 at Effingham Care Center.

The Stilson, GA native was a longtime resident of North Carolina and retired from Lorillard Tobacco Company.  She moved to Springfield 11 years ago to be with her daughter and was very active at the Senior Citizens Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jo Sam and Josie Hendley; husband, William Lee Smith; daughter, Betty Ann Bondaurant (Dennis); sister, Peggy Jo Clements (Edward); and brother-in-law, Mickey Keeter.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Roberts (Ron) of Springfield; son, James William Smith (Melissa) of Reidsville, NC; sister, Margie Keeter of Tifton, GA.  She has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Wilkerson Funeral Home, 1909 Richardson Drive, Reidsville, NC 27320.

Interment will follow in Reidlawn Cemetery.
