Guyton- Julia Helen Stegin, 92, died August 25, 2014 at Effingham Extended Care Facility.
The Savannah native was active in the Christian Church, including Meldrim and Guyton as well as the Christian Church Camp at Shellman's Bluff for many years. She was one of the founders of the Memorial Park at Meldrim for the 1959 Train Disaster. She had been a resident of Effingham Extended Care Facility for the past 8 years, where she was loved by all.
Survivors include her son, Joe Stegin and his wife, Judy; grandchildren, Joey Stegin, Justin Stegin, and Amy Capwell; two great-grandchildren, Amber and Dylan Anderson; a niece, Rochelle Brown; and a nephew, Russell McGrath.
Visitation: 6-8 pm Thursday, August 28, 2014 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 am Friday, August 29, 2014 in the funeral home chapel.
Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery at Meldrim.
Remembrances: Memorial Park at Meldrim.
