Julian Sheppard Heyman, Jr.
Springfield – Julian Sheppard Heyman, Jr., 82, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Ogeechee Hospice.
The Chatham County native was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church and a Sunday School Teacher. He received his Associate of Arts Degree from Armstrong College, a Bachelor of Arts from GA Southern College, his Masters of Education from University of GA, Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Medical College of GA, and a Specialist in Education from Augusta College. He was a member of the Salzburger Society, Phi Kappa Phi, and Phi Delta Kappa. He was a College Professor and was licensed in Marriage and Therapy Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian Sheppard Heyman, Sr. and Granville Bevill Heyman.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn K. Heyman; children, Laura Jean McCorkle (Jimmy), Julian S. Heyman, III, (Mary Jane), Isaac Heyman (Vicki), Marc Heyman (Stephanie), Richard Heyman, Jonathan Heyman, and David Heyman; 9 grandchildren, Joshua, Michelle, Jessi, Isaac, Sarah Kate, Trent, Benjamin, Matthew, and Cori; 6 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Grace, Ayden, Sebastian, Hunter, and Luke; brother, Marion Herman Heyman; sister, Lucy Eugenia Forsyth; and a niece, Sandy Yun.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bethel Lutheran Church. Mr. Heyman will lie in state from 2 p.m.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
