Bloomingdale-Mrs. June A. Algieri, 90, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Mrs. June was born in Bloomingdale to the late Lovick W. & Annie Shearouse. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale and attended the Fidelis Sunday School Class. She retired from the Desoto Hilton and was an avid bowler for over 70 years. She enjoyed traveling and loved baking cakes. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Algieri, a daughter, Brenda Joyce Scott and two brothers, Ishmael T. Shearouse and Lovick W. Shearouse, Jr.
Survivors, including her fifth generation, are her daughter, Beverly Scott Gill (John) of Simpsonville, SC; grandchildren, Brenda Sherbert (Chunk), Melinda Brouillard (Dennis), Marion "Bubba" Porterfield, Jerrie Lynn Dupre (Don) and Stacy Porterfield; two step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, Summer Brown (Steven), Brandon Sherbert, Alex Brouillard and Matt Brouillard; six step-great-grandchildren, Donnie Dupre, Gail (Ian) Dupre and Melissa Dupre; two great-great-grandchildren, Dakota Brown and Amber Brown; sister, Betty Taylor of Bloomingdale and several generations of loving nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Mrs. June's life will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 27, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale, located at the corner of Moore and Cherry Street, with Rev. Darrell Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Effingham County.
