Obituary

Our dear mother Kandi May Wilkins sadly passed away on September 11, 2024 at the age of 71.

She was a wonderful mother and nana who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community in Guyton, Georgia leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength.

She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth Wilkins and leaves behind siblings Mary Silva, Margaret Lefort Slaney, Jerry Johnson, Cathy Schleiff, Hiram Johnson, Susan Johnson, Michael Johnson, James Johnson and her children Denise Poirier (Matt Poirier), Heather Poe (Jeff Poe), Sheena Wilkins, Sara Moody (Scott Moody), Tabatha Hepburn (Gerad Hepburn), Melissa Felderman (Adam Felderman), Ken Wilkins (Traci Rollins), and her 16 grandchildren (Matthew, Arianna, Laela, JR, Anthony, Lucas, Landon, Zach, Cason, Kenzie, Mason, Joshua, JT, Harper, Kian, Esmerée) and her great granddaughter (Echo) along with countless friends who felt her warmth and generosity.

It would be wrong to say that Kandi lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Kandi stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn't mean she lost her fight. She accepted the lord, she accepted death, and she wanted to be free of pain. Kandi loved babysitting. Sometimes she would have twenty kids at once. She treated every kid as her own and even would host birthday parties for them. No matter where you came from or who you were, when you met Kandi she would make sure you were and felt loved, valued, and happy. Kandi also had a love for Halloween. Kandi would host parties every year, do all kinds of games and set up the whole house in decorations. Everyone was invited to her Halloween parties. Kandi you will be missed, and never forgotten by many. May you rest in eternal peace and feel our love forever. The memories of you will be cherished and loved forever.
