Karen K. Bland

Karen Kent Bland, age 76, of Bloomingdale, Georgia, passed away on May 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.Karen was born on December 2, 1949, to Tony and Eunice Kent. She graduated from Groves High School in 1968 and later married the love of her life, Dr. Ronald Wayne Bland. Together, they made their home in Bloomingdale and built a life filled with tradition, holidays, family dinners, laughter, and love.Known lovingly as Mimi, Karen’s greatest joy was her family. She will be remembered for her deep devotion to Wayne, her love for her daughters, her joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and the many family memories she leaves behind.She is survived by her daughters, Robin Benton (Lonnie) and Julie Trowell (Brian); her brother, Mickey Bland (Cathy); her grandchildren, Reagan Howell (Brandon), Kari Collins, Samantha Benton, Nicholas Collins (Deliana), Matthew Collins, and Eli Collins; her great-grandchildren, Kolsen Collins and Davis Howell; and many extended family members and friends who loved her dearly.Karen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Ronald Wayne Bland; her parents, Tony and Eunice Kent; June and Robby Bland; her brother, Rickey Kent; and her brother, Billy Bland.Her family would like to extend a special thank you to her wonderful caregiver, Debra Brune, who cared for Karen with kindness and devotion during her last two years, as well as the compassionate staff of Hospice Savannah for the comfort and support they provided in her final days.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Karen’s memory to Hospice Savannah.  Funeral arrangements are under the care of Thomas C. Strickland & Son’s Funeral Homes. Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at 1 p.m. at Westside Memorial Gardens in Bloomingdale, Ga.  Thomas C.
