Karen Skinner Sikes was born on August 4, 1956 in Savannah, Georgia.  She died at her home in Ellabell, Georgia on October 16, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones.

Karen retired from the Chatham County Board of Education.  Her hobbies include her love of peacocks and raising many varieties of birds at Wolf Pen Farm with her dog Burl always by her side.  Karen was preceded in death by her father Lenon Skinner.

Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Joseph "Joey" Sikes; son, Christopher Whitfield (Amanda); mother, Christine Skinner; sisters, Joy Apilado (Jose) and Sherrell Fleming (Michael); brother, Richard Skinner (Peggy); grandsons, Matthew Whitfield, Chance Whitfield and Wade Whitfield, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The memorial service to honor Karen's life will be on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.  The family will visit with friends after the service.
