Rincon – Kathleen Agnes McDonald, 91, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2023.

Mrs. McDonald was born in Girard, Burke County, GA on September 22, 1932 to Mary Elizabeth Flakes and Jefferson Brantley Weeks, Sr.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh McDonald; two sisters; and one brother.  Mrs. McDonald was a member of Rincon First Baptist Church.

Mrs. McDonald was creative and imaginative.  Every one of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have something she made, be it an afghan, cross stitch, needlepoint, clothing, dolls, or poetry she wrote.  Neighbors and friends were also gifted with beautiful items she made.  She won many awards for her creativity.  She was a phenomenal cook.  She loved her family.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by her children, Rhonda McDonald, Owen McDonald (Tracy) and Wade McDonald (Kim); five grandchildren, Jacob Caines, Laurel Tolbert, Lauren Dabney, Logan McDaniel, and Noah McDonald; six great-grandchildren, Joie Tolbert, Sati Tolbert, Hesha Tolbert, Zoe Caines, Thompson Dabney, and Tavis Dabney; and sister, Virginia Ellis.

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Strickland Funeral Home, Springfield, GA.

Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Effingham Memorial Gardens, Springfield, GA.
