Ms.  Kathryn V. Burke Hinely, 71, of Riverview Nursing Facility, formerly of Savannah and Orlando, FL, went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Candler Hospital.

Kathy was the eldest of five children (Navy Brats) and she was born in Charleston, SC to Nelson H. and Betty Wolfe Burke.  She was preceded in death by her parents, also two brothers, Thomas Burke and Robert Burke, and one sister, Mona Curtiss.

Kathy was formerly employed as a phlebotomist for Orlando Blood Bank.  Kathy loved God with all her heart.  She was a very giving person who loved singing, playing her guitar, and she loved animals, especially CATS !  She fed Feral cats and tried to give them love and warmth.  When she was a child, she and her childhood friend, Beth Arata, had a plan to go around in a station-wagon and help homeless dogs and cats !  Only being a new resident of Riverview, she was voted "Queen" of the year.  All the residents looked forward for their daily smiles and inspirations from Kathy.  She was considered a sweet "Flower Child".  She adored Mickey and Mini Mouse, Disney World, and acting in the Savannah Little Theatre.  She loved the Beatles and enjoyed cooking.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald C. Hinely, Jr. (Maude) and Joshua Matthew Hinely (Carolyn); sister, Pamela Gunby; five grand-darlings, Royce, Sarah, Will, Amelia, and Lillian.  The family would like to thank her caregivers that helped during her illness.

The celebration of life service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth.
