Obituary

Mrs. Kay Harmon Pharis, 61, of Savannah, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
Kay was born in Savannah and had retired after 30 years of service with the Chatham County Board of Education where she had taught kindergarten at both Gould Elementary and Charles Ellis Elementary Schools. She had played the piano at several churches and was a member of Pine Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Walker Kennett Harmon.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Pharis; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua & Amie Pharis; grandsons, Walker and Wyatt Pharis; mother, Rebecca Harmon; brothers and sisters-in-law, William "Bill" Harmon & Lois, Thomas "Hermie" Harmon & Kathy, and four nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at the funeral home.
The funeral to honor Mrs. Kay's life will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Charles Pharis officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Music Ministry at the First Baptist Church of Rincon, 201 East 6th Street, Rincon, GA 31326
