Mr. Kelly Winston Fortner
Pooler-Mr. Kelly Winston Fortner, 87, died on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at his home
surrounded by his family.
Mr. Fortner was born in Kite, GA and had lived in Pooler since 1962. He was of the
Baptist Faith and he enjoyed fishing and barbequing. He retired from Derst Baking
Company and he served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Fortner was preceded in death
by his son, Kelly E. Fortner.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Fortner of Pooler; three daughters and
two sons-in-law, Linda & Frank Ray of Stilson, Deborah Coleman of Bloomingdale and
Barbara Ann & Eddie Franklin of Pooler; five grandchildren, Becky, Anita, Kelly, Robbie
and Melissa; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sisters, Evelyn
McGarity of Dallas, GA and Maudie Lou Lowe of Stockbridge; brother, Leon Fortner of
Ellabell and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Hillcrest West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
