Kenneth S. Kocher

Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Kenneth S. Kocher, 89, of Rincon, Georgia, passed away in the early hours of Thursday, January 18.

The family was so grateful to see him just before his passing, including his young grandchildren that live in China, that got to see him via facetime. The smile on his face upon seeing all his grand children and his always bright blue eyes will always be in our memory.

Ken was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, a member of the greatest generation. His family was always amazed at his work ethic. He even recently remodeled nearly half the house with his wife, and do it yourself partner, Dorothy.

Ken loved all things mechanical, especially vintage tractors. He looked forward to giving all his grandchildren rides on the tractor. He kept busy after retirement tinkering with anything with an engine as well as various other projects.

Ken spent his entire career working in aviation and retired from Gulfstream Aerospace. He had the joy of his life when his kids got him a ride on a World War II era airplane.

Our fondest memories will be watching his interactions with his younger brother Alex. Only separated by two years, even in their 80s they would revert to little kids when they were together.

Our father was a very kind person and having grown up under trying times, he would readily give anything to family and friends.

We will miss you so much dad, but are happy that you are in heaven always there with us.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years Dorothy, brother Alex of Ohio, two daughters Kathy(Carlisle) DeWitt and Kris(Gary) Smith, two sons Kenneth(Janice) Kocher and Kevin(Jenny) Kocher, grandchildren Cory, Brittany, Carly, Christian, Kaitlyn, Katherine, Kassidy, Sebastian, and Nicolas.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, Friday, January 19 at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home Effingham Chapel 2460 Hwy 21 S, Rincon, GA

Funeral will be held 10 am Saturday, January 20, 2018 at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 1625 Ft. Howard Rd., Rincon, GA 31326.

Remembrances may be given to St. Mary Magdalene Church, 1625 Ft. Howard Rd., Rincon, GA 31326.

Burial will be private.
