Kenneth H. Lane, Sr.
Springfield, GA – Kenneth H. Lane, Sr., 73, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Hospice Savannah.
The West Virginia native worked for the State of New Jersey for 18 years before retiring as a Consultant. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, Shriner, and a Mason. He coached and managed his sons baseball teams, enjoyed camping, and loved his family. He was known as "Cakey" the Clown where he performed in parades and other functions.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oakley Lane and Erma Simpson Lane; and his daughter, Janis Lane Dorney.
Survivors include his wife, Marlene J. Lane of Springfield; sons, Kenneth H. Lane, Jr. (Karol) of Hamilton, NJ and Barry T. Lane (Valeria) of Hobe Sound, FL; siblings, Barbara Caldwell, James Lane, Betty Pack, and Carol Thom; grandchildren, Craig Crawley (Cindy), Aaron Wilson (Heather), Kyle Lane; great-grandchildren, Taylor Crawley, Alexa Wilson, and Jemma Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1:30 to 2:30 Sunday at the funeral home, followed by a graveside funeral at 3 p.m. at Effingham Memorial Gardens.
