Wendell Kirk Rahn
Rincon- Wendell Kirk Rahn, 54, died Saturday, May 14, 2016.
The Effingham County native was a career agent with Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance Company for the past 27 years. Kirk was a 1979 graduate of Effingham Academy, member of the 1980 Middle Georgia College National Championship baseball team, and a member of the 1981-1983 Armstrong State College baseball team. He was an avid hunter, golfer and baseball coach. Kirk was elected to the Effingham County Sports Hall of Fame in 2005. He was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church, the Followers in Faith Sunday School Class, and the Long Branch Hunting Club.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kimberly D. Rahn; children, Jaime Rahn (Hayley), Jordan Rahn, Kassidy Rahn; brother, Kim Rahn (Rebecca); aunt, Ann Graham (Ralph); nieces and nephews, Paige Rahn Rodriguez (Cesar), Payton Rahn, Robbie Brinson, Courtney Hodges (Clint), and Chelsea Redding; mother-in-law, Louise Riner (Stan); father-in-law, Tommy Dixon (Nancy); and sister-in-law, Gwinea Burns (Steve).
Visitation: 5-8 pm Tuesday, May 17, 2016 in the funeral home.
Funeral: 4 pm Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Springfield United Methodist Church.
Interment: Union Cemetery
