Kristin Desirèe Durrence
Springfield – Kristin Desirèe Durrence, 27, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Vidalia on February 15, 1989, Kristin, aka K-Dawg, had a contagious laugh and loved the laughter of others. She was a lover of the outdoors and often rode through the wildlife refuge. She loved the beach and enjoyed saltwater fishing. She was a huge fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and she anxiously anticipated every game. She enjoyed a variety of music including Cole Swindell, Restless Heart and Switchfoot. Kristin was employed with PBG Construction as a Heavy Equipment Operator (Excavator). She had a very strong work ethic. She was always at work early and did her job with excellence.
Kristin loved her family, especially her brother and sisters who affectionately called her "Sissy".
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Hugh Guyton, Virginia Durrence; and cousin, Maigan Lynn Gibson.
She is survived by her parents, Sharon and Matthew Hamby of Bluffton, SC and Mark and Linda Durrence of Brunswick; brother, Christian Matthew Hamby; sisters, Sara Lynn Durrence and Madison Daughtry Durrence; grandparents Bruna G. and Sydney L. Clifton, Christa Guyton, John Ronald and Gayle Durrence, Wade D. and Helen P. Hamby, Jimmy Clark and Sheila Brewton and Sue Clark; her dog, Gurley; and aunts Chris Adams, Patricia Gibson, Ashley Guyton Lewis, Carole Hinson, Gay Gill, Laurie Lamaviel, Leslie Walker, Mary Caraway, Therese Riner; and uncles, Danny Guyton, Allen Durrence, Lindsay Duffield, James Hamby, David Hamby, Lew Graham, Alan Graham, Youman Graham, Michael Clark and J.R. Clark; closest cousins, Tara Phillips, Devin Sikes and Gavin Gibson; and numerous other cousins; special friends, Ciera Riccio, Christi Salmons and Trish Morgan.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, at Thomas C. Strickland Funeral Home in Springfield.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Centerpoint Community Church in Springfield.
Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Humane Society for Greater Savannah.
