Bloomingdale-Mr. Larry C. Thompson, Sr., 61, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Candler Hospital.
Mr. Larry was born in Savannah to the late Claudine & Dorothy Luree Thompson. He was formerly employed with Georgia Pacific (Chemical Division) in Port Wentworth. He enjoyed auctions, junk and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Martha "Marty" Thompson; son, Clay Thompson; daughter and son-in-law, Amy & Joseph Johns; grandchildren, Ryan Troup, Joshua Thompson, Caleb Johns, Tyler Davis and Skyler Davis; brothers, Neal Thompson, Mack Thompson, Bobby Thompson, Lavon Thompson (deceased), Eddie Thompson (deceased) and Terry Thompson; sisters, Martha Davis, Diane Joyner, Judy Brant and Tasha Evans and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral to honor Mr. Larry's life was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2012 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Kenny Harrelson officiating. Pallbearers were Vince Thompson, Durrell Thompson, Mikel Neidlinger, Hugh Gross, Forest Bowen and Jimmy Baker. Music was provided by Jean Punch and Vivian Wilson. Burial followed at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
