Laura Ann Ambrose, 62, of Savannah passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Hospice House of Savannah surrounded by loved ones.

Laura was born on February 1 ^st 1961 in Savannah to Virginia Cooper Ambrose and Walter (Wally) S. Ambrose in Savannah, GA.  She was a 1979 graduate of Memorial Day School where she excelled in cheerleading, basketball & softball.  Recently, Laura was the driving force that organized a great multi-year class reunion for Memorial Day School.  After graduation, Laura worked mostly in the medical field before retiring to take care of her mom until her mother's passing.

Laura was loved by everyone for her warmth and kind heart.  She never met a stranger.  She loved dancing, music, reading, sports and photography.  Her love of photography provided a multitude of pictures that filled the walls of her home and many photo albums.

Laura is preceded in death by her mother, Virginia C. Barnes and her father, Walter S. Ambrose.  She is survived by her sisters, Diana Ambrose Makacinas (John) of Irvine, CA and Linda Ambrose Peebles of Huntington Beach, CA; her nephews, Sean A. Peebles of Conroe, TX and Brian A. Peebles (Christine) of Irvine, CA and twin great-nephews, Kyle  & Owen Peebles of Irvine, CA.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery located at 315 Greenwich Road in Savannah.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to one of the following organizations: Hospice House of Savannah; an animal shelter or rescue organization or American Cancer Society for breast cancer prevention which was the cause of Laura's death.
