IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Laura
Beaver
December 27, 1944 – November 26, 2023
Laura Bellie Collins Beaver (Mama, Babaw, Babo, Babah, Lolly, Lolly Bell, Lady Grady, Aunt Lolly) She had many names she went by, It didn't matter which name you chose to call her, if you called she was there.
Laura was born on December 27, 1944 in Augusta Ga. At the age of 78, she died peacefully in the arms of her daughter on November 26, 2023 at their home in Springfield Ga. She battled breast cancer for 7 years and other illnesses as well. She was so strong willed not to let illnesses take her life. She went when, and only when the Lord, was ready for her to go home. Nothing ever held her down. It wasn't until time got closer for her to go home that her earthly body stopped working as well as it had her earlier life. She was one tough cookie, that's for sure.
She loved everyone and met no strangers. Children seemed to gravitate toward her no matter if they were family or if it was just someone in passing. If she had a weakness, it would have been her soft spot for children. She loved all children. When she was around children she couldn't help herself, she would playfully act like one also; even as she aged she would still get in the floor and roll around playing with them.
She would do her best to help anyone she knew rather family or not, it didn't matter. If anyone needed a place to stay, she provided it never asking for anything in return, she would give her all.
When in her presence you would always end up smiling and laughing. There was just something about her, she could light up a room. Always be prepared for anything though, you never knew if she was going to show up in a bunny suit, try to snag your pillow, or just pass you on the street and make comments to just make you smile.
She was survived by her son, Fred Irvin "Rink" Collins Jr.; daughter, Louise Tessa (Gary) Griffin; grandchildren, Miranda Griffin, Joseph Griffin (Jasmine), Melody Griffin (Parker), Jonathan Griffin (Summer), Tony Griffin (Layla), Makayla Griffin, Albie Riedel (Amber), and Richie Good; great grandchildren, Ella, Skylar, Luka, William, Malora, Cooper, Logan, and Wade; life long fur baby Francis; sisters, Sandra Barinowski, Harriette Greer; brother, Sandy Beaver, Jr. (Linda) and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Irvin Collins Sr.; parents, Sandy Eugene Beaver, Sr. and Mary Annie Jones Beaver; sister, Zelma Broadwater; brother, Thomas Beaver.
She was never afraid of dying, she knew what came next, she was actually excited, she was just waiting on her wings to be ready. Her wings were ready but our hearts were not. The people that make the biggest impact on your life are the ones that are missed the most; even though it doesn't seem like it right now, this is a celebration. She is with her heavenly father along with loved ones who passed before she did, and we are certain that some of them are already plotting some good pranks on one another. Mama, you will forever be loved and missed beyond words by many...... If you come to celebrate the life of Laura with us, do like Jesus would say for you to do and come as you are. Don't worry about buying anything new or anything black, just come celebrate some good memories and dress as if you would on any other day. Royal blue was her favorite color.
Our family would like to extend a deep appreciation to Pruitt Hospice and the staff that provided help to both Laura and the family during her last few days, we will forever be grateful for the support and kindness shown.
Psalm 73:26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever."
Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
I'll forever love you ❤️🩹
Even though I can't see you,
And you're not really here.
I'll forever love you,
And hold the memories dear.
Even though you're not on this earth,
You will forever live on through the impact you put on everyone you met.
You can't put a price on how much you were worth,
But since you're in heaven you will forever be set.
I love you Babaw. By: Makayla Griffin
