Springfield – Laura Diane Blackwelder, 57, passed away February 5, 2025 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.

The Augusta native was the office manager for Alacrity Solutions. She was a member of Bible Lutheran Church that loved being with and taking care of her family. She also had a love of shopping, purses and shoes. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marsha James.

She is survived by her husband, Alan Blackwelder; her beloved pet, "Coco"; daughter, Brandy Hudson and her husband Wesley; grandchildren, Wesley Hudson, Jr. and Keirstin Hudson; her father, Garnett "Sonny" James, Jr.; sisters, Amie Dickerson and her husband Jamie, and Kari James; niece, Abbie Brookins and her husband Tyler; and nephew, Josh Dickerson.

Visitation: 1 -2 pm Sunday, February 9, 2025 in the funeral home.

Funeral: 2 pm Sunday, February 9, 2025 in the funeral home chapel.

Remembrances: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Alzheimer's Association.
