Springfield – Laura Bailey Devisscher, 45, passed away June 17, 2024 from injuries sustained in an accident.

An Effingham county resident, Laura was a friend, a confidante, and an encourager to all she knew.

Her heart was God first, her husband and children- family and friends.

With a God given talent for singing she was part of the praise and worship team at First Baptist Church of Springfield. A former member of Sonlight and Mercy in her younger years.

She shared the Gospel of Jesus Christ though the Awana ministry, VBS, and Bible studies. She was the director of the Good News Club at Springield Elementry School. Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Pregnancy Care Center in Rincon. She was employed by SouthCoast Health.

Survivors include her husband of 25 years, David E. Devisscher, Jr.; children, Emily Nicole Mowers (Robert David Mowers, III) and Jude David Devisscher; grandson, Robert David Mowers, IV "Beau"; parents, William "Bill" and Katherine Bailey; sister, Leesa Bailey (Dustin Fort); father-in-law and mother-in-law, David Elwood Devisscher and Blenda Joyce Devisscher; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and her special circle of friends.

Visitation will be 9:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Springfield followed by funeral services at 12 noon in the church.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.
