Garden City-Mrs. Laurie Davis Blakey, 84, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2010.

Mrs. Blakey was born in Sardis, GA to the late Simeon J. & Allene Herrington Davis.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, A.C. Blakey, Sr. and her sister, Mittie
Ann Davis. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City and she was a
homemaker. She took great joy in crocheting and sewing and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her children, James W. & Jan Blakey of Garden City, Sarah Blakey
Pirkle and Rev. Earnie of Savannah and Amos C., Jr. & Fran Blakey of Marietta; eight
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

The visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the funeral home.

The funeral to honor Mrs. Laurie's life will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 4, 2010 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Earnie Pirkle and Rev. Bill Gardner officiating. The graveside funeral will
follow at 4 p.m. at Sardis Cemetery located on Cemetery Road in Sardis, GA.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to the U.S.O. in honor of two grandsons
serving in the military.
