Attis "Lavert" Howard

Springfield- Attis "Lavert" Howard, 85, passed away on February 4, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.

The Effingham County native was a very active member of Rincon Baptist Temple. He was a Korean Conflict US Navy veteran, having served for four years. He was retired after 44 years of service from Union Camp and loved woodworking and working in the church, being a Deacon previously.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gloria Arnsdorff Howard; a daughter, Linda Howard; a son, Jay Howard (Ginger); two grandsons, Nicholas and Wyatt Howard; sisters, Onnie Derryberry, Louise Steed, and Lois Rahn; step-sisters, Shirley Wilson, Marcell Burnett, Cathy Howard, and Vicky Ramsey; step-brothers, Truman Howard, Bobby Howard, and Tony Howard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6-8 pm Tuesday, February 6, 2018 in the funeral home.

Funeral: 11 am Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Rincon Baptist Temple.

Interment: Turkey Branch United Methodist Church Cemetery.
