Guyton – Lawrence Allen Lanier, Sr., 67, passed away May 22, 2025 at his residence.

The Effingham County native retired from Chatham County as a Safety Management Coordinator.  He was a jokester, enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and watching old westerns and t.v. shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kennith Logan Lanier, Sr.  and Joann Lanier.

Survivors include his wife, Jolene Veal Lanier; children, Lawrence Allen Lanier, Jr., Wesley Earl Lanier, Christine Michelle Grant (Devon), April Marie Mitchell (Daniel), Wendy Nicole Whitaker (Mark), and Stephanie Jennifer Simpson (Joey); 16 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Karen Dianne Moore (Gary); brothers, John Randall Lanier (Shari), Andrew Joseph Lanier, James Curtis Lanier, and Kennith Logan Lanier, Jr.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2025 in the funeral home chapel.
