Lawrence Matthew Shea
Rincon – Lawrence Matthew Shea, 83, passed away Wednesday, October 09, 2013 at Memorial Health.
The Maine native retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sgt. having served in Vietnam and the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 1242, American Legion Post 400, and received the Silver Star Medal, The Distinguished Flying Cross, and flew over 500 combat sorties.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Katherine Perkins Shea; children, Karen Griffin (Fred R.) and Jennifer Shea (Dwight Davis); son, John Patrick Shea (Becky) all of Rincon; 5 grandchildren; Shawn Griffin; Brad Griffin (Jessica Griffin); Jonathan Griffin (Stephanie Griffin); Christopher Shea (Jessica Williford); Brent Davis; 6 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday followed by funeral services and 2 p.m. in the chapel.
Interment will be in Springfield Cemetery.
