Mr. L.C. "Pee Wee" Fletcher
Faulkville-Mr. L.C. "Pee Wee" Fletcher passed on to be with the Lord on Monday,
September 24, 2007 at his home in the care of Hospice and with his loving family and
pets at his side.
Mr. L.C. was born in Paveo, GA on January 13, 1935. He spent most of his childhood in
Waycross, GA and was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton & Jessie Fletcher, two
brothers, Leslie & Jim Fletcher and three sisters, Christine, Dolly and Verna Mae.
Mr. L.C. was a member of South Newington Baptist Church and the Mens Adult Sunday
School Class. He retired from Iron Workers Local 709 and served on the executive board
of Trustees. He traveled with the Local 709 to work on such projects as Cape Canaveral
and underground tunnels that connected the White House to the Capital in Washington,
D.C. before making Savannah his home. Mr. L.C. along with his wife owned and
operated Fletcher's Mobile Home Park for 30 years before moving to Faulkville. Mr.
Fletcher was an avid gardner and loved racing as well as the Atlanta Braves. Mr. L.C.
also enjoyed spending many hours with his family at their river house on the Ogeechee
River.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, of fifty years, their three sons, Jeff Fletcher
(Donna) of Faulkville, Greg Fletcher of Richmond Hill and Scotty Fletcher, (Lisa) of
Pooler; six grandchildren, Tabatha Casteel of Guyton, Shannon Smith of Richmond Hill,
Nicholas Fletcher of Pooler, Miranda Davidson of Pooler, Corey Fletcher of Faulkviile
and Elizabeth Bridger of Faulkville; five great-grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Dillan,
Sean and Lexie; brother, Wilburn Fletcher and a sister, Pete Hendrix, both of Waycross;
brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy & Lynn Griffin of Pembroke and a special friend and
caregiver, Tammy Crisp of Robinsville, NC and several nieces and nephews
Visitation: 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 11 a.m. on Thursday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.
Remembrances may be given to the South Newington Baptist Church Building Fund, 462
John Carter Road, Bloomingdale, GA 31302.
