Port Wentworth-Mr. Lee A. Perry, 68, passed away at 6:05 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 surrounded by his family, friends, and under the care of Compassus Hospice.
Lee was born in Savannah to the late Marion R. & Opal Perry. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry & Bonnie Chester of Port Wentworth. He graduated from Groves High School in 1967 and was the owner/operator of Perry Contracting. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth, where he was a former Sunday school teacher, deacon, usher, and R.A. leader. He was a former member of the Judea Gospel Singing Group and he enjoyed Karoke and singing. He also coached football, baseball and softball in Port Wentworth.
Survivors include his wife of 48 3/4 years, Janice C. Perry of Port Wentworth; his children and their spouses, Lisa Perry Roberts & Donnie Roberts of Register, Jason & Breanne Perry of Port Wentworth, and Amy Perry Sessions & Lee Sessions of Port Wentworth; grandchildren, Brandon & Elena Roberts of Statesboro, Brittany Nichole Perry of Port Wentworth, Hannah and Taylor Roberts of Register, Morgan, Kera and Jase Sessions of Port Wentworth; Makayla and Bryson Perry of Port Wentworth; great-grandchildren, Layton Murray, Elliott and Anslee Roberts, all of Register; siblings and their spouses, Roy & Nancy Perry of Hardeeville, Graham & Frankie Perry of Ellabell, Alice & Alex Quarterman of Pooler, and Evelyn & David Miller of Pooler as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
