Pooler – Lena Lucille Murray Hunter, 90, passed away August 23, 2021 at Hospice Savannah.

The Screven County native was the next youngest of 12 children of Brantley and Alice Wilder Murray. She helped her mother in Murray's Grocery Store and married William Joseph Hunter in 1947 whom preceded her after 72 years of marriage. She ran Hunter's Nursery most of her life, loved gardening and flowers. But most of all she loved taking care of her husband and children. She was also preceded in death by her infant son, William Joseph Hunter, Jr. and daughter, Linda Marie Sibilio.

Survivors include her children, Shirley Street (Tommy), William B. Hunter (Renee), and Gloria Jean Kasabian (David); grandchildren, Kelly, Michael, Tony, Beverly, Bobby, Joseph, Susan, Lucy, Ivy, Randy, Katie, Jessica, Brian, and Chris; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2021 at the funeral home, Effingham Chapel.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 in the funeral home chapel, Effingham Chapel.

Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Newington.
