Lennis Kessler Cooler
Guyton – Lennis Kessler Cooler, 85, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Bryan County Health and Rehab.
Born in Union City, GA on July 29, 1929 to Angus and Ethel Kessler along with her twin brother Dennis Kessler. At six her family moved to Rincon where Lennis had fond memories growing up in a family of fifteen children. She played basketball in high school and received a scholarship to Georgia Teachers College (Georgia Southern). In 1950 she married Harmon Cooler and devoted her life to raising her three children.
Later in life she took art classes and found a love for painting, but her true love was her family. She wa a sweet and loving mother and grandmother and will sadly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Cooler and son, Richard Cooler, brothers, Carl, Clarence, Erwin, and Leland Kessler, sisters, Winifred Thigpen, Mildred Barnes, and Clyde Dickey.
She is survived by her daughter, JoAnn (Jimmy) Williams of Rocky Ford; son, Raymond (Vicky) Cooler; daughter-in-law, Melanie Cooler of Guyton; grandchildren, Allison (Donnie) Howard, Tiffany (Dusty) Williams, Chris (Katlyn) Williams, Jimmy (Amber) Williams, Jr., Kevin (Missy) Cooler, Kelli (Jameson) Stewart; great-grandchildren, Kara Williams, Mason Howard, Claire Williams, Natalie Howard, McKenzie Williams, Kennedy Stewart; brothers, Everette, Dennis, and Allen Kessler; sisters, Myrtle Hall, Gwen Hunt, Irma Wilson, and Patsy Wilson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m.to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 followed by funeral services at 10:30 a.m. in the chapel.
Burial will follow in North Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be given to Oak Grove Church of Christ Building Fund, c/o Ritchie Dickey, 4169 Hwy. 119 N.,Clyo, GA 31303.
