Leon H. Cook

Mr. Leon H. Cook, 90, of Blitchton, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2026.

Leon will be missed by his wife of 66 years, Dot Cook; daughter, Sharon Cook Johnson (Donnie); son, Randy Cook (Melanie); grandchildren, Lindsay McFarland (Todd), Kelli L. Brown, Jenni R. Gay, Andrew Cook (Shelby), Austin Roach, Aaron Cook (Halli), Alex Cook (Stephanie), Austin Cook (Hailey), Garrett Cook (Hailee), Carson Cook, and Drake Cook; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Leon was born in Bryan County and was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Leon Cook and Minnie Moore Cook. He was a truck owner/operator for over 40 years and his CB handle was “GA Fisherman”. He was a very gifted mechanic and a long-time member of NASCAR. He enjoyed fishing and traveling to the mountains, but auto racing was his passion. He loved his family and will be deeply missed.

The memorial service to honor Leon’s life will be on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. The family will greet friends after the memorial service.
