Leon Julian Johns, Jr. 75, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Riverview Rehabilitation Center in Savannah, Georgia after an extended illness.
Leon was a resident of Garden City, Georgia for many years before moving to Ellabell, Georgia. He was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Garden City and also attended Central Baptist Church. Leon was well known for his sincere kindness and was an avid race car enthusiast as well as an avid car show attendee.
He was the owner and operator of Johns Paint and Body Service in Garden City and later worked for numerous body shops as he was well known as one of the best painters in the business.
He is preceded in death by his father, Leon J. Johns, Sr., mother, Inez Johns, and sister, Carolyn L. Johns.
He is survived by his son Kevin Johns of Richmond Hill, Georgia, daughter Heather Johns (Michael) of Bloomingdale, Georgia and sister Pam Stell (Danny) of Pooler, Georgia. Two grandchildren Easton Johns and Lexie Crosby, niece Dana King, nephew Chris Mincey, and several cousins.
Family and friends will gather for a graveside service and burial with Rev. Harvey Bream officiating on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery located at 330 Greenwich Road in Savannah.
