Mr. Leon Oliver White, 80, of Pooler, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center after a long illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jimmy.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Barbara Terrell White; children, Tonya McCann (Charlie), Tina Williams, Traci White, Tiffany Peacock (Dan), and Chris Futch (Misty).
Leon was born January 17, 1942 in Axson, Georgia. He married his childhood sweetheart on November 16, 1960. Together they raised 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
He worked 27 years at BF Diamond and retired from Maxim Crane after 25 years. He was an active member of The Sons of Confederate Veterans and served 7 years in the GA National Guard. He was a former member of ABATE, and one of his greatest pleasures was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
His memory will forever be missed and cherished by his family. His legacy will be remembered by many and his presence dearly missed by all.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Westside Memorial Gardens on Adams Road in Bloomingdale.
