Guyton – Leonard Monroe Boyles, 92, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at his residence.

The Effingham County native was a member of Guyton Christian Church and an Elder Emeritus. He retired from CSX Railroad after over 40 years of service. He served on the 1 ^st Guyton Volunteer Fire Department, was a former Chief, and a member of the Civil Defense. He celebrated his 75 ^th Wedding Anniversary on December 5, 2020 the day before his passing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Monroe and Bessie Arnsdorff Boyles; his sister, Marjorie Boyles; and his brother, Herbert Boyles.

Survivors include his wife, Geneva Lawson Boyles; daughter, Linda McDaniel (Ronnie); son, Lynn Boyles (Mickey); grandchildren, Ron McDaniel (Amy), Kelly Strickland (Ryan), Jason Boyles (Mandy), and Jeffrey Boyles; great-grandchildren, Kendra McDaniel, Morgan McDaniel (Logan), Bryson McDaniel, Samuel, Simon, Silas, Abigail, and Abraham Monroe Strickland, Reagan Boyles and Lawson Boyles, Gracelynn Boyles and Graham Boyles; a special nephew, Lonnie Burnette; and other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Guyton Christian Church.

Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Springfield.
