Obituary

Garden City-Mr. Leonard Parish, 86, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 5,
2010.

He was an avid fisherman and gardener, loved the outdoors, and loved his family. He
was preceded in death by his two sisters, Marie Odom and Betty Sue Parish. He was a
veteran of World War II, and retired from the Norfolk-Southern Railway System family
after 40 plus years of service.

He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Mary "Betty" Parish, a son, Bill (Sandra)
Parish, and two daughters, Nan (Chuck) Jenkins and Patsy (Gerald) Ethridge, along with
six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7 in the chapel of the funeral
home with the funeral following at 7 p.m. Rev. Ross Lewis and Rev. Randall Frantz will officiate. The pallbearers will be Patrick Ethridge, Brad Parish, Jonathan Cross, Adam Parish, Scott Jones and Jeremy Horstman.

The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8 at Hillcrest Abbey
West Cemetery on Dean Forest Road.

Remembrances may be given to the First Baptist Church of Garden City Building Fund,
35 Nelson Avenue, Garden City, GA 31408 or to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190,
Savannah, GA 31416.
