Obituary

Bloomingdale – Leymon Lewis, 88, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Hospice Savannah.

The Evans County native was a member of the Alpha United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Watson Davis Sunday School Class. He had been employed by Union Camp Corporation for 37 years and was a member of the Richard T. Turner Lodge 116 F&AM. He also served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1946 with the rank of Tec Sergeant 5.

Survivors include sons, Randall L. (Terri) Lewis of Stilson; Ronald (Jeanie) and Larry E. (Lori) Lewis both of Pooler and Geary H. Lewis of Bloomingdale; ten grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at the funeral home.

The funeral to honor Mr. Lewis' life will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 18, 2012 in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Tom Carruth and Rev. Kenny Harrelson officiating. Music will be provided by Willene Iler Stone and the pallbearers will be Richard Willouby, Charles Rogers, Tommy Gruber, Thomas Purvis, Roy DeWitt, Gordon Reddick, Russell Lee, Mike Erner and Walker Jones. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bloomingdale.
