Lincoln Peter Gaborik

Guyton – Lincoln Peter Gaborik, 85, passed away July 6, 2018 at his residence.

The Michigan native was a U.S. Army veteran, a former Merchant Marine and Ship Captain. He was an accomplished wood worker and former member of the Shelby County Art Association in Alabama.   He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon where he enjoyed singing in the church choir as well as the Jolly Singers choir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Florence Gaborik; wife, Vassie Gaborik; and brothers, Andrew, John, and Norman Gaborik.

Survivors include his children, Jerry Gaborik, Lester Gaborik, Chris Gaborik, and Marty Gaborik; step-children, Gregory Edwards, Curtis Edwards, Richard Edwards, and Annette Authement; 9 grandchildren ;    7 step-grandchildren; sister, Norma Swires.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL.
