Springfield – Linda L. Thomas, 72, passed away on June 10, 2023 at Effingham Care Center. She was born in Richmond, VA on January 8, 1951 to the late John R. & Hallie Lee McClellan.

Linda loved animals, especially her cat, Sammie, and dogs, Buca and Star. She loved to sing and color pictures for her family and friends. Linda was a big fan of Elvis Presley and the Atlanta Braves.  Her favorite player was Chipper Jones. Linda's greatest wish was to learn to read, so she could read her Bible. But most of all, she loved the Lord and her adopted family, who called her Lucie Lou, Betty Boop, or Lala.

Linda was a member of Silver Hill Church. She was preceded in death by her sister, Faylee (Chris) McClellan Graff; adoptive family; brother, Paco Chanes; and grandchildren, Francisco and Allison.

Left to cherish her memories are her adoptive Mama and Papa, Bob & Patricia Huffine; her sisters, Cheri Hughes (Roy), Rhonda Nix (Charles), Melissa Jones (Jerald), and Elizabeth Hall; grandchildren, Nelson (Kelly), Johnathan, Jasmine (John), Jordan (Victoria), Jennifer (Lee), Amber (Corey), Zachary (Sarah), Blaine, Joey (Lana), Jessica (Brandon), Andrew (Rachel), Blake (Marcena), Cameron, and Danielle; great-grandchildren, Kiersten, Nadelynn, John, Aidan, Yeva, Jaxon, Garrett, Kelsey, Cade, Dawsun, Brennan, Waylon, Logan, Lily, Turner, Piper, Kennedy, Henley, and Ethan; special people in her life, Donald Chance and  Dwayne Fort.

Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Silver Hill Church with visitation an hour prior to the service.

Burial: Silver Hill Church Cemetery.
