Linda Davis Worden
Springfield – Linda Davis Worden, born August 12, 1946 succumbed to Lupus on October 27, 2015 after two years of treatment. She died in Landmark Hospital in Savannah.
Preceded in death by her father, Harold D. Davis, her mother, Helen Hiott Davis, two sisters, Cheri Cloe and Melissa Ann Davis, and an infant daughter, Laura Alicia Worden.
Linda was a communicant at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah where she served as Extraordinary Minister of the Holy Eucharistic and co-chaired the Sunday School program for several years.
She was a 1964 graduate of Effingham County High School (ECHS), where she was a participant in the Rebel Regiment. She attended Berry College in North Georgia, and was a 1972 Chemical Technology graduate of Savannah Technical School. She worked in the Lab at Natrochem, in Savannah, occasionally drove the bookmobile for the Effingham County Library, and worked at the Video Store in Springfield.
She loved to sketch, paint, and read. Her favorites were novels by Stephen King, James Patterson, and Dean Koontz.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Michael T. Worden, two daughters, Katherine Theresa Borders (Randy) and Helen Celeste Worden, two sons, Michael Patrick Worden (Kristy) and Thomas Stephen Worden; six grandchildren; seven brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their spouses; special friends, Linda Lewis, Sonja Deason, Emma O'Neal, and Mary Ann Goodman.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Friday at Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.
Interment will follow in Guyton Cemetery.
