Bloomingdale-Mr. Lindbergh Pittman, 83, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Mr. Lindbergh was born in Toombs County to the late Albert & Leila Pittman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Grace Pittman, a sister, Eleane DeLoach, and a brother, Mike Pittman. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Bloomingdale Volunteer Fire Department where he served as captain for several years. He was a member of the Rocky Creek Baptist Church and retired from Union Camp. He loved cars, he helped build several race car engines locally, and volunteered his time with young people, including 4-H.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn & Fred Cammack, Toni & Bill Rollins and Jessica & Michael Mathis; sister, Lucy Rewis; two granddaughters; two grandsons; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 1 p.m. on Sunday in the chapel of the funeral home with the burial to follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
