Guyton – Liz Dean, 77, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Hospice Savannah.

A native of Guyton, she was a lifelong member of Pine Street Baptist Church where she served as church treasurer for over 35 years.  Mrs. Dean retired in 2017 after 33 years of employment with the Effingham County Board of Education.

Mrs. Dean is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Leon Coleman and Frances Pye Coleman; husband, C. D. Dean, Jr.; son-in-law, Jonathan Bazemore;  biological mother and step-father, Marion and Olin Slater.

She is survived by her son, Devon Dean; her daughter, Cynthia Dean Bazemore; granddaughters, Carlie and Katie Bazemore, and honorary granddaughter, Jenna Roberson; brother, John Slater; sister, Lucy Thompson; in addition to many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Pine Street Baptist Church with funeral services following at 2:30 p.m.

Interment will follow in Guyton Cemetery.
