Garden City-Mrs. Loka Eugenia Butler Tapley, 88, died on Thursday at Carolinas
Medical Center in Charlotte, NC.
Mrs. Tapley was born in Bryan County to the late Otis & Fannie Miller Butler. She was a
former member of Fellowship Assembly of God Church in Garden City and was a
homemaker. She enjoyed playing the harmonica and growing flowers and was also
preceded in death by her husband, Samuel LaFayette Tapley.
Survivors include her daughter, Blenda Tapley Fetty of Purlear, NC; brother, Willie
Butler of Pembroke; sister, Jeanette Newton of Crystal River, FL; four grandchildren, six
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Funeral: 3 p.m. on Sunday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at
Northside Cemetery in Pembroke.
